Presented by Whitehurst, Blackburn & Warren
The 5th Annual OakFest music festival, presented by Whitehurst, Blackburn, & Warren, was held on March 19, 2022 at the Ritz Amphitheater in downtown Thomasville. The event raises awareness and funds for The Treehouse Children's Advocacy Center of Thomas County.
"OakFest is a great opportunity for our community to get out, enjoy time together, and to learn what services The Treehouse provides for our area. We are proud to support these efforts,” says WBW partner, Bill Blackburn.
OakFest was established in 2018 by the Kiwanis Satellite Club of Thomasville to benefit and support services provided by The Treehouse. This local nonprofit serves children during investigations of child sexual and physical abuse, witnesses to violent crime, and victims of child sex trafficking in Thomas County. All services provided by The Treehouse are free for children and families, and WBW has been the presenting sponsor for the event since 2019.
"OakFest has been a source of critical funding for our Center and has completely funded our facility on Gordon Avenue," says Jackla Lawson, Executive Director of The Treehouse.
“Reports of child sexual abuse and the commercial sexual exploitation of children are growing in Thomas County. Our forensic services are a critical part of these criminal investigations. We stand ready for children when they need us.”
Whitehurst, Blackburn & Warren is committed to the the children and families of Thomas county: “We continue to support OakFest and The Treehouse’s mission serving as the premier child advocacy center here in southwest Georgia. The services that they offer to the Thomas County community, for families and children affected by abuse are exceptional," says WBW partner Joe Cargile.
